Current Scheduled Events: Dine Out with the Dogs Sunday October 30th, 2022 12:00 PM until 07:00 PM Location: Paulie's Little Bite of Italy Map: 15456 N 99th Ave Sun City AZ 85351 See all of the animals attending this event. Dine Out with the DogsSunday -October 30th from Noon to 7PM at Italian dishes, pizza, salads, sandwiches and desserts made from family recipes. See Paulie’s menu at http://www.paulieslittlebiteofitaly.com A "HOWL-O-WEEN" costume contest will also take place. All dogs arriving in costume will be photographed and then the pictures will be photographed and then the pictures will be posted on the AGR Facebook page. Voting will end at Midnight, November 7th. The pet with the most "likes" will be considered the winner. Owners are welcome to be in costume too, but only pets will be voted on. Our Raffle, Silent Auction and good friends guarantee to make this a day to remember. Hope to see you there.

Arizona Biltmore’s Thanksgiving Day “Turkey Trot” 5K Run, Walk or Stroll the grounds of the Beautiful Biltmore Estate AGR will be the charitable beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from this THANKSGIVING DAY event. We are asking for volunteers with their Goldens to be at the start and/or finish of this event to entertain and encourage participants while wearing donation vests. And i f you want to participate and run, walk or stroll this 5K on the grounds of the beautiful Biltmore Estate at you can register at www.arizonabiltmore.com/activities/turkey-trot-5K// AGR will receive a portion of the entry fee. Refreshments will be served at the finish line. So, plan on burning off some of those calories that will be consumed later in the day and join us for this fun event. Arizona Biltmore’s “GOLDEN FRIDAY” A twist on traditional Black Friday, the Shoppes at the Arizona Biltmore will present “Golden Friday” and the Biltmore has invited AGR to do special gift wrapping of gifts purchased there. Afterwards, they will be serving a special “Golden Champagne” to inviting shoppers to unwind. For those who participated in the previous Biltmore’s Spire Bar event this should be just as relaxing and fun. This event will only require a few great gift-wrappers, but we will also include multiple goldens wearing donation vests to provide an opportunity for guests to relax and hug on a Golden and hopefully, place a donation in our Goldens’ vests. As in years past, AGR will present of Arts and Crafts for sale and offer plenty of socialization time for our cute Goldens at the PACC911 event. Bring your dog(s) and a chair and take a break from the hectic holiday rush and join us for an hour or the entire day. Sharing the AGR story, collecting donations in the vests the dogs wear, helping people purchase our great Crafts and Art, all help AGR continue our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Golden and Golden-mixes in Arizona.

The Hometown Christmas Parade in Glendale has been an AGR favorite for many years. A relaxed mile-and-a-half stroll through downtown Glendale, seeing thousands of smiling faces, little children squealing when they see the AGR dogs coming and putting donations in the vest of our dogs makes for a fun morning. Dress in red and Christmas décor for you and you Golden and join others having fun and getting some exercise, too. A family day of fun everyone can participate in. Click here for more information PACC911 Annual Adopt-a-thon Saturday January 14th, 2023 10:00 AM until 03:00 PM Location: Anthem Community Park Map: 41703 N Galivan Peak Parkway Anthem AZ 85086 See all of the animals attending this event. AGR needs help with set-up starting at 7:30 AM, help during the day in our booth, and help with pack-up at 3 PM. Please volunteer! Contact me at dorwigaz@cox.net with whatever part of the day you can be there with or without a dog. Our booth space is #64-65. We will be located on the south end of the first row of booth spaces and nearest the Anthem Veterans Memorial. There will be food trucks present, some non-rescue vendors, and many rescue groups. You may park ONLY in the lot to the south of the Park (Gavilan /Venture Ct) then walk north on the sidewalk to the event area. NO PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED ACROSS THE STREET IN THE SHOPPING CENTER – this is a change from previous years. If you are going to come help with set-up, you may temporarily park in the unloading area immediately to the south of the Park. Please be there no later than 7:30 – we need to unload quickly then move the vehicles. Some PACC911 Rules that MUST be followed: ALL ANIMALS ATTENDING THE EVENT MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE. IF IT COMES TO THE ATTENTION OF PACC911 THAT YOUR GROUP HAS BROUGHT AN UNALTERED ANIMAL TO THIS EVENT, IT CAN RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM PACC911. ALL DOGS MUST HAVE A MARTINGALE COLLAR, SLIP LEAD, CHOKE CHAIN OR SECURE HARNESS ON TO KEEP THEM SAFE. If you do not have one of these, please let me know and I will bring one for you. The excitement is building already for our fun annual event, Paws At The Park. Please mark your calendars right now for Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 11 AM to 3 PM and don’t let anything else interfere with coming to help us celebrate 14 years in business with 1,226 dogs rescued! The event will be held at the West Ramada of Eldorado Park in Scottsdale. There is a map on the registration form. The February newsletters went out in the mail on Thursday. A PATP registration form is included; you can also find one on our Facebook page and on our website. Please fill it out and send it in ASAP. Since we purchase food for this event, we must have registrations in and paid for by March 15. You can pay by sending a Zelle transaction labeled PICNIC or including a check or credit card information with the registration form. If you do a Zelle payment, you can scan the registration form and email it to Deb Orwig at dorwigaz@cox.net Anyone is welcome to attend as long as they register and pay: $16 per person, $8 for children under 10. This is a family event. Dog-friendly dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash in the park. We hope that most of you who adopted a dog from AGR in 2022 and in the first two months of 2023 are able to attend – we will have an adoption recognition ceremony and do a Parade of Rescue around the park. Those of you who have lost a dog in the last year may want to acknowledge that dog in our Rainbow Bridge ceremony – Deb will need a paragraph about the dog and a photo you like ASAP. Questions?
