15-036 Lucky, a Golden mix, and his mom, 15-035 Duchess (a purebred Golden), were originally surrendered to Arizona Golden Retriever Connection by their owner who could no longer keep both dogs. AZGRC relinquished them to us, as they could not keep a mix like Lucky. He was a quite handsome one-year-old Golden personality disguised in a black dog suit. Michele, who met him first, described him as identical to Dug from the movie Up with his silliness. Very quickly, we realized that mother Duchess did not tolerate son Lucky’s pestering, so we felt we had to separate them. Lucky had absolutely no manners or training, so he was sent off to one of our wonderful dog training facilities for an intensive three-week “boot camp”. At the end of that time, his exuberance was still pretty high and he was still very distracted, so he continued with some additional training at the training facility. However, Lucky really needed to find a home where he would get lots of exercise and attention. An adoptive family were up to the task and have promised to follow through with training to turn this young guy into a well-behaved pup! You can do it, Lucky!
