Abbey is a sweet 4-year-old Golden girl returned from her original placement, as the resident Bernese Mountain Dog did not get along with her. We were told that Abbey was a champion swimmer and would go in the water any place, any time, so either a fenced pool or none would be necessary. We took her to an adoptive couple, who shortly indicated that the splinted toe she arrived with was getting worse, prompting a vet visit. At that visit not only was she diagnosed with a broken toe, but she also tested positive for valley fever. She is recovering well, and we hope that she is completely healed in time for swimming season. The adopters commented: We love Abby! She is a wonderful addition to our home and so very very playful. I can also say the highlight of her day is when she can get into the pool. I think we are all more entertained by watching her and the joy she has jumping in! She is so cute and funny along with very puppy-like when she is in the water. We hope to have many happy years with her.
