Buddy came into our lives on Saturday, May 18th, 2012. It was such a happy day for all of us.

Exactly two months before on Sunday, March 18th, we had to kiss our sweet Sam (also a Golden) goodbye. As anyone knows, that is so very difficult. Our family had been a "two dog family" for MANY years. It felt so empty without Sam. Betty seemed sad too. Although no dog can replace another, there are so many others waiting and wanting to be loved. We knew that not just any dog would work in our home. Betty may be small but she had always been the boss even though Sam weighed about 80 pounds

NEVER had we imagined we'd adopt a black dog from a Golden Retriever rescue. LOL Buddy's profile picture just really struck me. He had such a darling expression on his face. We also had originally thought a dog around 2 years old would be perfect. Buddy was just 7 months old.

Long story short, Buddy has filled our home and hearts with MUCH joy. Betty has a new lease on life. We hadn't seen her run and play so hard for a couple of years. She loves her Buddy.

Buddy is going to obedience classes. He hasn't mastered walking nicely on a leash yet but we are working on that. We have faith. :)  We must brag a little about all the good things he does. He's more than just good looking.  Although he had previously lived in a backyard, Buddy has NEVER done his business in our house. NOT EVEN ONCE. We showed him the dog door when we brought him home. Betty demonstrated. He followed her lead and seemed to just know that he was to use the yard as his toilet. He is also NOT destructive. He is happy and content playing with us and Betty and toys rather than going after furniture etc.

Buddy is a big lover and enjoys cuddling. He was also very easy to crate train so when we must be gone he goes in his crate without any problem whatsoever.

AGR was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with!! We've told everyone of our satisfaction not just with Buddy but with AGR as well.

It's hard to believe that we've had our Buddy not quite a full month. He is such a great fit in our family. We LOVE our Buddy!
