24-071 Polo is an almost-year-old Goldendoodle puppy that the owner had for only two months. The dog was a gift from the owner’s mother, who previously owned him. Polo seemed healthy and happy and reportedly loves the dog park and seeing other dogs. The owner lived in an apartment, so Polo had been crated most of his life. He was surrendered because the owner had no time to spend with him. Polo needed vaccination updates and our standard tests for valley fever and heartworm. He was fostered by an AGR volunteer and had a great time playing with her three resident dogs, two of which she had adopted from AGR. The foster found out that Polo can jump really high and could get right up on her kitchen table without any trouble. Forewarned is forearmed for the Flagstaff family that was chosen for Polo. The adoptive family have renamed him Bondi. Where did that name come from? The adopter told us they arrived at the name of Bondi because their son wanted the dog to have an Australian name and Bondi is the name of a beach there – their son calls him Bondi Bean. Bondi is learning the ropes and finally not so skittish. He had a very fun-filled Christmas with lots of children around. We are using a harness for walking him, and he is doing well. Bondi didn't mind when I put him in Christmas pajamas to match the rest of the family. Bondi is getting better with the cat. If he gets too close, she still has her claws to warn him. They will adjust to each other given time. 

Bondi was neutered after he arrived in Flagstaff and settled in with the family. In his shaved-down condition, he will definitely need the sweater the family said they would get for him.
