22-086 Luna was an unspayed Golden female not quite two years old when she came to AGR . The dog was acquired at 8 weeks of age for the autistic son of the owner, but the son did not bond with the dog and was becoming abusive. Luna was very nervous and scared of anything new and had some adjustment issues, such as submissive peeing, when first placed with an adoptive family and their two young boys in Chandler. She needed our standard vetting with vaccines and tests for valley fever and heartworm. Her spay had to be put on hold for a month – just before it was scheduled she went into heat. With time, patience and love, Luna has come around as the adopter notes in this message: Luna is a great addition to our family. She has a LOT of energy and is very sweet. One of our children plays with her nonstop, and she sleeps in the room with our other child every night. She loves her Kong teddy bear and dribbling from her water bowl right down the hallway. Luna is immediately in the kitchen at the sound of any food package being opened. Watching her crunch ice is so funny! A trip to Flagstaff showed us how much she loves frolicking in the snow. She already has at least 4 nicknames and a song written about her. We love Luna !
