In early July, AGR was contacted by a local breeder of Goldendoodles . Her poodle had recently had a litter of 10 (after having a previous litter of 10 last year) . The breeder had been able to sell only three of the puppies and wanted to surrender the other seven to us figuring that we would have a better chance of finding new homes for these 9-week-old puppies. We were not able to place any right away, so the AGR Health Care Manager offered to foster the four boys and an AGR foster couple in Phoenix took the three girls. Each identified adoptive family made an appointment to visit the puppies with either foster, depending on whether they wanted a male or a female, respectively. So all had met their puppy before he or she was actually delivered. All the puppies are really nice, appear to be quite smart and are growing well. All needed a complete series of DHPP vaccines and deworming. All will need to be sterilized when they reach a year of age. They have all now been finalized with an addendum for the spay or neuter. 22-050 Sparkle was the last little girl to go to her new home . She now lives with an adoptive couple in north Scottsdale in a gorgeous house and large yard and has a male Goldendoodle, Theodore , for a companion and mentor. They renamed her Phoebe . David has scads of photos and some videos of Theo and Phoebe playing run-and- chase or who’s-the-boss – it’s hys terical seeing little Phoebe (probably about 30 pounds) trying to hump big Theo , a tall Goldendoodle, or out- run him on the large patio. They have looked like they are having a won derful time together. David wrote: Phoebe has integrated into our family very nicely. She has quickly bonded with her Doodle brother, Theodore (7 years old) and enjoys pouncing on him and pulling on his ears throughout the day (and eating his food when he’s not looking). She is assertive, intelligent, and learns quickly. Phoebe enjoys treats, stuffed animals, playing ball, sun bathing, and stealing socks. Happy new life, Phoebe !
