21-058 Belle and 21-059 Duke are a bonded pair of 3-year-old purebred Goldens that we rescued in December 2021. Their owner was experiencing some life changes and moving in with her parents where having the dogs stay with her was not possible. Both dogs were up to date on vaccinations, but they needed tests for heartworm and valley fever. In addition, Belle, who was seriously overweight at 90 lbs, was already spayed, but Duke needed to be neutered, which we had done. After their vetting, they were transported to an adoptive couple in Scottsdale. The woman immediately gravitated to Belle and the man to Duke. Despite her weight, Belle is very athletic and loves to play with a ball. She also likes to stand on the step of the pool but quickly trained the woman to net the ball out of the pool for her – over and over! Duke saw the pool and drank out of it but did not want to go in. We’ll be interested to know how they do around/ in the pool once the weather gets hot. The day after delivering them our AGR transporter called the family to find out how they did overnight. They said the pair had slept in their bedroom, gobbled their breakfast, and were just playing and playing with each other. We are so glad we are able to find families who are willing to adopt a bonded pair so we can keep the dogs together. The adopters are a young couple with an active lifestyle, just perfect for this pair of beautiful dogs! We wish you all every happiness.
