Kylie, now Missy, is a 6-year-old female Golden mix. Unfortunately, this sweetheart was found on the side of the road and taken to MCCACS. She was spayed and given the required vaccinations. Her nose had lost some of its pigmentation. At first, it was thought this might be an indication of lupus, an auto-immune disease, but that was not confirmed, so it may have been caused by something she got into when she was a stray. The FWITA was just cautioned to keep an eye on it and report to us if the raw area does not improve. A mammary mass was discovered, and she would also require a teeth cleaning with extractions – there was grass impacted in her upper jaw area and lots of gingivitis. She continued to receive her medical care at one of our partner veterinarians where her FWITA adopters lived. Thankfully, when the mass was removed the biopsies were negative. Missy is now enjoying her new life in her new home that includes the resident Golden, Paws. The adopter relayed: Our new addition is so wonderful.
