Leland, now Gunner, was a 7-week-old puppy when he developed parvovirus. Unfortunately, his owners could not afford the costly veterinary care required to save his life, so they contacted AGR. His medical care was quite extensive – for a week, he was isolated in intensive care and required a feeding tube, subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics and antinausea medications to combat the vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. When he was finally stable enough to leave the hospital, one of our wonderful foster parents offered to continue caring for this cutie pie until he was ready for his forever home. His vetting was transitioned to where he required frequent visits to check on his progress. After two months of outstanding TLC, “Lee” was ready to be placed. He is now growing up with Shelby, Thomas and resident Golden, Rory. Another Golden to show him the ropes! Gunner has grown into a very handsome adolescent and is a welcome addition to the family.
