Murfee is another Golden mix about 9 years old who had some medical problems, and his family could not afford to meet his current and future medical costs. A very handsome chocolate-and-butterscotch-colored dog with fluffy Golden feet, he was reportedly good with cats, kids, and other dogs. We took him immediately to the vet and found he really did need emergency surgery for prostate issues and stones in his urethra and bladder. The vet told us afterwards had we not brought him in immediately, Murfee probably would not have lived through the week. An adoptive couple took him home after the surgery and reported he was doing well. They wrote us to tell us how he is doing: 

He looks like a big ol’ Bear and even though it was suggested to change his name to Bear by family members, Murfee just seemed to match his total persona. Murfee came to us a day after receiving emergency surgery to save his life. On the quick thinking of Jim and the entire AGR organization, Murfee was quickly rescued and rushed to a vet who stated he would have not made it through the next 48 hours without medical attention. We are so appreciative of Jim’s quick action and AGR’s decision to give this dog hope. Today, Murfee is a happy, healthy and energetic senior. He has become best friends with our Golden puppy TJ, and they are inseparable. Completely and totally inseparable! The love those two share is only outdone by the love Murfee has for his human mommy. One never knows exactly what these dogs have faced in the past, but our Murfee loves his forever family. He is a major tail wagger and shows you how important you are to him. He is a bit spoiled, but look at that face. How could you not? We are so happy to share our lives with him and are very thankful to AGR for giving this special dog a second chance at life.
