Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Goldie came to AGR from another set of rescuers. Her original owner had passed away, so she went to live with friends of his. Unfortunately, her new dad was allergic to her and she was unable to stay with them. We were happy to have this delightful 7-year-old come stay with foster mom. The foster took her off to the vet for her check-up, and other than needing to lose about 20 lbs, Goldie was just fine. Goldie let us know she didn’t really like the Valley and that she was more of a Southern Arizona kind of girl, so we hooked her up with her adopter. She and her boy Denali were missing their previous Golden Girl and were hoping to add another to their lives. The adopter missed having Golden Retriever hair all over her house, and Denali missed having a live-in playmate. We thought these guys would be the perfect match, and the adopter let us know we were right: As soon as I saw Goldie’s face, I knew that was the face I wanted to look at forever... she had just lost her human and I had lost my Golden Girl-dog... she needed to come live with me and my Denali-dog. Today the three of us are quite the trio and are frequently seen around Yuma visiting Goldie’s new friends (including local retailers who have welcomed her into their stores). Goldie has more than doubled the fun and love in our household. A big thank you goes to the volunteers at Arizona Golden Rescue. |
